Hands down, the best part of my job is getting to explore new places, including college campuses. I loved being a guest lecturer at the beautiful Bowdoin College this week, talking about Women in Science Now (which just had it’s 1 year book anniversary!) and then exploring coastal Maine a bit.
I met up with several faculty members doing fascinating work in neuroscience, biology, and physics, and talked with students about science communications, as well as various research areas. It was especially cool to visit Bowdoin’s Schiller Coastal Studies Center, right on the water, as an invited guest lecturer for a science communications class.
If you are interested in bringing some programming around women in science, equity in science, and/or science communications to your campus, conference, or institute, please reach out to me. My next stops for book-related talks are the University of Maryland next week and then the University of British Columbia in February.
